I believe a team is only as good as the management so I have to also give kudos to Amit and Aneesh. I noticed many members of this team helping each other instead of having an ”it's not my job” attitude. I mention all whom I met by name because they all prove that you don't have to be a Five-Star Hotel to give Five-Star Service. The other two front desk agents who helped me were Melini and O'Neal. Mahogany was always great along with Evelyn, who always called me by name and made me feel like family. I had forgotten to call the property and really appreciated her follow up. While I was away, I received a call from Mahogany verifying my upcoming reservation. Before checking out for a weekend trip, I notified Jesse (maintenance) of a broken electrical plug.when I checked back in 3-days later, it was fixed. The other helpful attendants were Shabeena, Riley, and Sovita. I was assisted by four different room attendants, my favorite being Shereen. I am not sure if the rooms have recently been renovated but I was pleased with the decor and my comfortable king-sized bedroom (I could visualize this room being in much pricier hotels I have stayed in). She works various shifts and is always friendly, knowledgeable, and accommodating. Maria has been a super star throughout my stay. She was welcoming and enticed me to stay there answering my safety, service, and amenity concerns (I needed a place for my 2 dogs, and appreciated that the rooms promised a microwave, a mini fridge, a hairdryer, and coffeemaker.the only thing that was missing was a safe but my dogs don't wear Cartier Collar Bling so we were good.) When I returned later to book a room, Maria helped me find the courtesy reservation made by Angie. I travelled nearby and met Angie at the Red Roof Inn. I initially stayed two nights at a cheap corporate-managed competitor but felt that something was missing. Some home improvements recently mandated that I find a place to stay for a couple of weeks with my dogs. On day three of our time in Salt Lake City, the opportunity arose and I finally set foot inside Black Bear Diner once again. So, when I began to see billboards for Black Bear Diner around Salt Lake City, my excitement sky rocketed. We drove through Colorado and I even joked that we should “pop-down” to Colorado Springs and eat at Black Bear Diner. Unfortunately, it took until September of 2021 for Bailey and me to travel west again. While I can’t remember what I ordered back in 2017, I do remember that it was very good and I was excited for the chance to go again. They offer breakfast alongside dinner and lunch options.

The food choices would rival places like Village Inn and Cracker Barrel. The food menu was in the form of a newspaper (which I’m pretty sure I still have to this day). My initial thought when walking into Black Bear was, this is a much nicer Village Inn with a touch of Cracker Barrel. As soon as we saw Black Bear Diner, we knew we had to stop and give it a shot. This was very exciting for us because our trip began with coming across a black bear in the neighborhood our Airbnb was located.īailey and I were both very hungry and had been struggling to find a place to eat on Google. During this trip, while driving around the city, we came across a place called, Black Bear Diner.
